Spine Physical Therapy

Real Health Rehab Provides Spine Physical Therapy

When your back or neck hurts, nothing seems to work right. Pain, Stiffness, and Fatigue become daily worries. It seems almost everyone you talk to has experienced some type of spine pain or symptoms down their legs or arms.

A good treatment program that works is based on your own body’s life history and physical experience. We consider the pelvis, sacrum, full spine and the kinetic chains above and below.

At Real Health Rehab, we are dedicated to using hands on skills combined with tens of years of experience to help you figure out your particular problem and a treatment approach specific to you. We spend time and use skilled manual therapy with individualized therapeutic exercise and education with our expertise. We can help with:

  • Mid Back Pain, Pressure and Popping
  • Low Back Pain and Stiffness
  • Neck Pain and Stiffness
  • Headaches
  • S/I sacroiliac pain
  • Buttocks and hip restriction
  • Sciatica and Pain down the legs or into the buttocks

Can physical therapy help a degenerative disc disease?

Because degenerative disc disease (DDD) can weaken your spine significantly, you may need to work on strengthening your back, neck, and core muscles. Then they will help support your spine better, which may lead to reduced pain. Your doctor may recommend physical therapy to help treat DDD.

Exercises are very important to reestablish the normal motion and strength in the spine. A daily hamstring stretching program is key to help relieve pain from degenerative disc disease. Also important are stabilization exercises and aerobic conditioning.

What types of treatment are used for DDD?

Passive treatments for low back pain from degenerative disc disease may include chiropractic adjustments, physical therapy, TENS units, ultrasound, and massage.
